- ETA was established in 1923 as a small family company where
mustard, fruit syrups,
compotes and jams were produced.
- A new factory was built in 1963 at the location which today still remains the central production premises.
- In 1983, ETA merged with SOZD Mercator and since 1996, it has functioned as a shareholding company with majority ownership (now 97.33%) held by Mercator, d.d., Ljubljana.
- In 2000, the company invested in reconstruction and technological update of the central production (higher capacities of production lines, reduced energy use, better working conditions).
- In September 2002, the company SLOSAD, d.o.o., Maribor, merged with ETA and was named the Bohova plant.
- In 2003, the company introduced a whole new product image in glass jars and the new brand NATURETA® and commenced production and distribution of roasted vegetables in plastic trays.
- By the beginning of 2006, most of the crucial technological equipment for the major programs had been upgraded giving ample and flexible production capacities for high quality ETA products.
